About Azusa Mori
Azusa Mori is a professional koto performer based in Japan.
She graduated from the Tokyo University of the Arts, specializing in Traditional Japanese Music with a focus on contemporary koto repertoire.
As a certified instructor at the Sawai Koto Institute, she is dedicated to promoting the art of koto through performance and education.
Her awards include First Prize at the 3rd IBLA Grand Prize Japan Division (2023) and other notable honors for her contribution to traditional music.
Performed at prestigious venues including Carnegie Hall in New York and Suntory Hall in Tokyo.
Premiered contemporary koto pieces, including Nurse Log, a 17-string koto concerto by composer Noel Hiyamizu.
Active participant in international music festivals such as the IBLA Grand Prize Festival in Sicily.
